BDO Hong Kong Managing Director - Assurance, Clement Chan was elected as the new president for the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (please click here for HKICPA's press release) at the 41st annual general meeting on 13 December, 2013.
Clement has been a Council Member since 2007 and over the years he has been actively participating in the Institute’s activities. He was the Vice President and part of the Leadership Team of the Institute.
Clement is currently the Chairman of the Financial Reporting Standards Committee and the Chairman of the Asian Oceanian Standard Setters Group (AOSSG). Clement continues to be involved in the reform process of auditors regulatory framework which will have long term repercussions in the Hong Kong audit profession. He takes part in government and other organisations such as Foreign Expert Advisory Committee on drafting of PRC auditing standards, the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, Market Misconduct Tribunal, Securities and Future Appeals Tribunal, HKTDC Professional Services Advisory Committee etc.
