Johnson Kong's public appointments

BDO Hong Kong managing partner Johnson Kong has been re-appointed as a member of the Appeal Board Panel (Town Planning) for a term of two years from 19 December 2011 to 18 December 2013. A notification to this effect was published in the Government Gazette on 16 December 2011.

He was also reappointed as a member of Advisory Board on Accountancy of Hong Kong Lingnan University for a term from 2012 to 2014.

In addition, he has been appointed as a member of Advisory Group on Modernisation of Corporate Insolvency Law of HKSAR Financial Services and The Treasury Bureau.

 

Clement Chan elected as Vice Chair of the Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group

BDO Hong Kong managing partner Clement Chan was recently elected as a Vice Chair at the third annual meeting of the Asian-Oceanian Standard-Setters Group (AOSSG).

The AOSSG (www.aossg.org) is a grouping of the accounting standard-setters in the Asian-Oceanian region. It was established in 2009 to leverage the knowledge on globalising financial reporting standards and share experiences on implementation of the standards amongst each other.

 

Clement Chan elected as Vice President of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants

BDO Hong Kong managing partner Clement Chan was recently elected as a Vice President of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) (www.hkicpa.org.hk). Clement has served on the HKICPA council for five years.

 

Albert Au appointed as the Chairman of the Corruption Prevention Advisory Committee and member of the Advisory Committee on Corruption

BDO Hong Kong Chairman & Chief Executive Albert Au has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to serve as the Chairman of the Corruption Prevention Advisory Committee (CPAC) for a term of two years from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2013. He was also appointed as a member of the Advisory Committee on Corruption (ACOC) for the same time period.


The CPAC advises the Commissioner of Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) on the work of the Corruption Prevention Department and ACOC is the principal advisory body of ICAC and oversees all the Commission's activities.

Honourary scrutineer of the HK Legislative Council Election Debate

BDO acted as the honourary scrutineer of the Hong Kong Legislative Council Election Debate. BDO Assurance Director Hong Ng and Financial Controller Frankie Ho led the team to carry out the scrutineer job at TVB’s studio on behalf of BDO.

Six sessions of Hong Kong Legislative Council Election Debate were held on 17, 18, 19, 25 and 26 August and 1 September 2012. During the six sessions, debates are conducted among the candidates of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon West, Kowloon East, New Territories West, New Territories East constituencies and District Council (Second) Functional Constituency.

立信德豪董事楊文安兼任專項諮詢總監。他具有超過25年提供交易諮詢服務的豐富經驗,並能處理審計、稅務及會計等範疇。楊文安擁有香港、澳洲及馬來西亞執業會計師資格。兼任總監後,他主要履行管理專項諮詢服務的職責,管理範圍包括企業融資、重組及破產和法證及訴訟支援 。

鄔碩晉獲委任為立信德豪專項諮詢董事。他擁有超過15年專項諮詢經驗,涵蓋服務範圍包括估價、訴訟支援、盡職審查及企業重組。他曾處理在亞洲各地區的財務、會計、法證會計、企業融資及破產管理的項目,相關經驗豐富。鄔碩晉是香港資深會計師。
