BDO Webinar: Changing international tax landscape - impact of BEPS 2.0 in Hong Kong

BDO Webinar: Changing international tax landscape - impact of BEPS 2.0 in Hong Kong

CPE
06 四月 2022 - 07 四月 2022

The OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework on BEPS recently released the Global Anti-Base Erosion (GloBE) Rules as part of a ground breaking plan, agreed to by nearly 140 jurisdictions, a two-pillar solution to address the tax challenges arising from digitalisation of the economy.

Multinational enterprises (MNEs) in Hong Kong SAR, across sectors, are likely to be impacted, particularly by the global minimum effective tax rate of at least 15% under the GloBE Rules.

Implementing GloBE Rules could also impact the domestic tax system in Hong Kong SAR covering a range of income exclusions, exemptions, tax incentives, deductions and a potential domestic minimum tax, increasing the overall effective tax rate for MNEs in Hong Kong.

During this webinar, our speakers will provide both technical and practical guidance covering:

  • Latest BEPS 2.0 developments, focusing on updated guidance on Pillar Two (global minimum tax);
  • Practical examples and walkthrough calculations based on recently released commentary and guidance;
  • Expected impact on existing tax positions, incentives or taxes paid in Hong Kong;
  • Implementation steps and anticipated timeline;
  • Key actions taxpayers should take in preparation of the new rules.
