Our firm was invited as honorary auditors for the Chief Executive Candidates’ Forum, held on 1st March 2007 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.   Our director, Ms. Mary Joyce Leung, headed the eleven-member working team for the Forum.

The Forum was to provide a transparent, fair and equitable venue for the Chief Executive candidates, Mr. Donald Tsang Yam-kuen and Mr. Alan Leong Kah-kit, to face Election Committee members to explain their respective platforms for the office of the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Mrs. Rita Fan, the chairperson of the Hong Kong’s Legislative Council, acted as moderator of the Forum.  Election Committee members and the general public were invited to submit questions for the candidates in respect of their vision and blueprint for Hong Kong.

BDO was responsible for conducting and supervising the procedures for random selection of questions and safeguarding the confidentiality of selected questions.  During the Forum, BDO acted also as timekeeper on the attendees’ questions and the candidates’ responses.

The event was broadcast live by television and radio stations in Hong Kong.  There was also significant coverage from the media in the Region.
