Albert Au chaired the "Anti-Money Laundering Seminar for Accountants" held on June 8, 2007 at the Lecture Theatre of Hong Kong Central Library, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.

The Seminar was hosted jointly by the Narcotics Division ("the Narcotics Division") of the Security Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region ("HKSAR"), the Joint Financial Intelligence Unit ("JFIU") of the Government of HKSAR and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants ("HKICPA").  Albert chaired the event in his capacity as vice president of HKICPA and the speakers include chief inspectors of police and superintendents from the Narcotics Division and JFIU.  The Seminar was well attended, with hundreds of participants from the accounting profession joining the Seminar.

The objectives of the Seminar are to provide the participants with an overview of the latest international and domestic anti-money laundering developments, to enhance their understanding of the statutory obligations and practices of suspicious transaction reporting and to provide a forum for discussion on matters of common concern relating to anti-money laundering compliance and reporting.
